Course Description: Introduction to HTML - MaryLou White
This class is a bare-bones, no-frills introduction to the basics of HTML. The student will learn what is necessary to create a web page. It assumes the student has no HTML background. Students will be required to download and install an easy-to-use text editor and a file transfer program (both are free). Web space will be provided for the student to use for the duration of the course.
The student must know how to download and save a file to their hard drive, how to find the file once it has been saved, how to unzip a file, and how to install a program.
The Lessons:
This course will include hands-on activities while learning the
HTML tags. Learning will be reinforced by repetition of what
has been learned. Each class will end with a short homework
assignment based on what was covered in the lesson. Homework
assignments will be posted to the class bulletin board.
This course does NOT cover tables and the more detailed aspects
of HTML. This course is not intended to add to existing HTML
skills.
